This is said to be the worst mass shooting in history to date after 50 people have been killed, and over 200 wounded in a shooting at a country festival in Las Vegas, yesterday evening, Sunday, October 1st.
The shooting started on the final night of the 3-day, Route 91 Harvest Festival, a sold-out event attended by thousands of people. Singers on the evening include; Eric Church, Sam Hunt, and Jason Aldean. Jason Aldean was the last performer of the night, he just finish performing when gunshots broke out.
The police reported that the shooter was a 64 years old man, Stephen Paddock by name who was a resident of a nearby Mesquite, Nevada. He first opened fire on the festival goers from a room across the street around 10pm. He was later shot and killed by investigators who are also raiding the Mesquite home he shared with his companion.
‘Investigations are still ongoing and police have not yet determined a motive’, Said Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept.
President Donald Trump took to Twitter to condemn the shooting saying ‘My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!”.
