Super star Beyoncé has been cast as the voice Nala in the upcoming remake of one of the highest grossing animated movies of all time “The Lion King.” Nigerian born British actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor will voice Scar.
Disney released the full cast on their official Twitter on November 1st.
Rapper/actor and screenwriter Donald Glover was confirmed to be the voice of Simba earlier this year. James Earl Jones however retains his role as the voice of Mufasa.
Others on the cast includes;
- Eric Andre voicing Azizi
- Keegan-Michael Key voicing Kamari
- Seth Rogen as Pumbaa.
The film, which will be directed by Jon Favreau, will be a “new take” on the classic story of the lions of Pride Rock and will feature “pioneering filmmaking techniques,” according to Disney.
