There is a recent resignation of Cardinal Peter Turkson from a department he headed in the Vatican which has left people flabbergasted.

The Ghanaian was on Saturday, December 18, reportedly presented his resignation letter to Pope Francis though the pope has not yet decided on any move yet regarding the tender.

The 73-year-old Ghanaian, one of those who advise Pope Francis, has suddenly shown interest to resign from the department he headed at the Vatican, the Dicastery for Integral Human Development. According to sources who revealed this on Saturday, December 18, said The cardinal whose origin is Ghana, is assumed to be the potential first African to take over the pope’s position.

In a piece of information provided by sources, prior to Cardinal Peter Turkson’s resignation, some of his tasks at the Vatican were to advise the pope on issues related to climate change and social justice was reportedly fed up with internal disputes.
