Leading urban fashion and lifestyle entrepreneurs, Theo Ngobeni and Zano Sithetho, have launched the ‘The Good Sir’, a movement that aims to help young men master the art of being a modern gentleman.
Supported by Oude Meester’s exclusive Blue Door Society, ‘The Good Sir’ seeks to promote a culture of young, confident men, who care about how they look, feel and engage the world.
A series of events:
Dubbed ‘Dinner with Style’, the ‘Good Sir’ launch event was held at the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel, Melrose Arch in Johannesburg on 30 July 2015.
Hosted by Ngobeni and Sithetho, the inaugural ‘Dinner with Style’ was MC’ed by acclaimed media personality and entrepreneur, Weza Matomane. Celebrated writer, poet, and businessman Kojo Baffoe was the guest speaker. Attendees included young professionals, entrepreneurs and other influencers such as media personality Legend Manqele, celebrity footballers Sibusiso Zuma, Eduan Naude and Reyaad Pieterse, as well as Emmy Award-nominated comedian Loyiso Gola.
The evening saw a spirited discussion between guests around the definition of a true gentleman. Baffoe referenced the ancient romans who believed mastering virtues such as courage, temperance, industry, dutifulness and masculinity defined manliness. “In my view, a gentleman respects himself and extends that respect to those around him” – Kojo Baffoe.
To kick off the launch of the Good Sir movement, Ngobeni & Sithetho honoured social entrepreneur Khathu Mashau, as an example of what they consider to be a true gentleman. The duo will be honouring other achievers at each dinner to commemorate their entrepreneurial skills, excellence and mastery, falling in line with the qualities of the gentlemen’s movement.
Oude Meester is delighted to be part of the journey empowering a new generation of gentlemen.
