The Biggest Movie Awards Night in Africa

Here Comes the STARS!

It is almost a week since the biggest Movie awards night in African. The 2nd African Magic Views Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place on Saturday the 8th of March 2014 in Lagos Nigeria. The Award event brought out top gun celebrities in the African entertainment industry. Here are the pictures of ladies who Dazzle at the event and those who failed to Dazzle. Enjoy!

Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi in (April by Kunbi), Rita Dominic in(Lanre Da Silva-Ajayi) and Ibinabo Fiberisima: This ladies all nailed it at the 2nd AMVCA Awards 2014. We so love the metallic dresses, Rita Dominic was spot on not only with her red dress but also with her make-up, clutch and jewellery.

Eku Edewor in Clan, Waje and Chika Ike: Eku is a style icon and never fail to dazzle, we love her top to bottom nude style. Waje rocked the lady suit, her hair style enhanced and finished up the look. Chika Ike is a princess and she just made it even more clear.

Monalisa Chinda,Biola Alabi and Osa Ighodaro  in Iconic Invanity: Monalisa most of the times wears her colours right, This Dark green satin dress wouldn’t look right in any other person. There were so many reds on the red carpet, however Biola Alabi took a five star on the red galore. Osa Ighodaro is a fashion princess, we thought she was a little too covered up with this style, we had love to see more flesh with a body like hers.

Ezinne Akudo (Miss Nigeria) and Tonye Garrick in FrockIt RockIt: Our very own Ezinne Killed it this time, she is a little style princess in the making. Tonye Garrick didn’t fail to dazzle either, she rocks  this Frockit Rockit white lace like a star.

Agbani Darego in Meena and  Toke Makinwa Ayida: Agbani Darego in no doubt stole the evening with this Meena gown, the style is fab and like no other. Toke Makinwa doesn’t have to prove that she is a syle godess, she nailed it just as expected.

Kate Henshaw in Needle Point, Chioma Akpotha and Michelle Dede: These three ladies just rock, we’ve giving them four star because they can do a little better. However, we still love their style, their make-up and hair style are just on point. They deffinatly dazzle!

Susan Peters, Olohi Osakioduwa (Presenter) and Vimbai Muntihiri: Wow! here come the Menswear inspired ladies, Susan almost rocket it with her flora print style, we just don’t like the hair do, its too boyish, Olohi wore it well but it isn’t just for her and Vimbai rocket it almost like Waje. infact we will give Vimbai 4 stars!

Ireti Doyle, Shola Shobowale and Yemi Alade: Shola Shobowale is our everlasting love. Ireti Doyle wore it well as well. Yemi Alade hmm! we expected so much more because you are still young and beautiful, we wanted to see that curve in a sparkling style all over.

Makida Moka, Juliet Ibrahim: These ladies dazzled, we love Juliet Ibrahims dress colour, what a princess, but with a body like hers, we need to see those curves that screams beauty.

And… Celebs that fail to Dazzle!!!!

Uche Jumbo in (BCBG Max Azria), Genevieve Nnaji in (Jewel by Lisa) and Mercy Johnson Okojie: This is totally unbelivable, Uche Jumbo needs to sue her stylist if she’s got one, this can be a brilliant style but it is totally wrong for her, the neckless doesn’t help the situation either. Genevieve our icon, dressed to kill last year, we know she isn’t a norminee this year but that doesn’t mean she can join the band wagon of average celebs, she need to stand out and shine like the star she is. Mercy Johnson went for the wrong dress colour, it looks like she didn’t put in any effort this time.

Jackie Appiah, Ronke Oshodi Oke and Funke Akindele: Jackie Appiah and Funke Akindele are our sweet hearts. They are also part of the biggest stars of today, it is high time they get a new stylist because this outfits are a no! no! for them. Funke is a norminee and have been in the the AMVCA spot light since last year, she should know better by now.

Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Bimbo Akintola and Clarion Chukwura: These ladies can do so much better as well. Bimbo Akintola and Clarion Chukwura you might not be up for an award but that doesn’t mean you can’t still dazzle and steal the show.

No comment about this lady as it is 100% worst dress of the  evening. Joselyn Dumas in (She by Bena): We expected so much more from diva Joselyn Dumas. We have giving her one star for hair and make-up. This dress is so not right for her, she can do a lot more better than this on the biggest night of African Entertainment event.

Not only the women dazzled that night, we are yet to bring you the men in African Entertainment who attended the event and compare their sense of style. watch out!

Some top celebrities who were not present at the event are Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buhari, Tonto Dike, Uru Eke, Jim Ike and Anthony Monjaro, we guess they are busy working. Overall the event was an amazing one from the looks of it and we hope it can only get better next year.
