“Dear Community,

It has come to my attention that there are numerous false reports making the rounds of my suspension as CANUK Chairman and I felt it only right to correct this misinformation. Like any well meaning organisation, rifts and disagreements are bound to occur within the executive committee and disgruntled members of the wider community. But I would like to make it clear that with the help of the Nigerian High Commission, elders and well meaning leaders within our community, all previous issues have now been resolved.

My position as Chairman still stands and so does that of CANUK Financial secretary, Pastor Peters Omoragbon. Our positions were never in doubt and the executive committee on the whole remain resolute in our in paramount objective which is positively impacting the lives of the Nigerian community in the UK.

We are working hard towards this and have a full schedule f events and programs in the coming months which include our CANUK Youth Careers Conference set to take place this Saturday (28/5/16), our second Disability Fun Day in July, the highly anticipated Family Fun day in August and our flagship CANUK Dinner, Dance and Award Night in December.

We ask those who are intent on continuing to peddle falsehoods about my status as CANUK Chair to please desist and refocus their energy towards creating a harmonious and progressive environment for the community whilst urging all to join hands with CANUK as we carry out our positive agenda for the upliftment of the Nigerian community in the UK.

Babtunde Loye

Chairman

Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (CANUK)
