Women Into Leadership Conference is a Learn, Connect & Collaborate event said Organiser ‘Faustina Anyanwu’!

During our exclusive interview with the Founder of Divas of Colour; Faustina Anyawu, who is currently Organising Women Into Leadership Conference 2017, She talked about the event, why she organised it, how women can lead their own life to success amongst other important facts.


Can you briefly introduce yourself and also tell us what Women Into Leadership Conference is all about?

I’m the founder of Divas of Colour International women’s forum, which provides opportunities for women in developing their business, personal and professional goals. Divas of Colour is the leading platform for women of Colour globally to connect, network, learn and share their stories. We celebrate, recognise, reward and discover the contributions and best of women of colour to world’s development. Since 2014 has been connecting women from diverse background, creating platforms for startups, small and medium businesses to reach their audience, gain exposure and establish meaningful connections and mutually beneficial collaborations.

After 4 years of the Divas of Colour annual festival, we listened to the women who have been connected to us. So many have expressed their need for a more concise conference and workshop which will not just be for buying and selling or celebration and shows but to address their skills need for expansion in terms of  building every area of their lives.  The Women into leadership has come to be that opportunity they have been craving for. It is a Learn, Connect and Collaborate conference for women in business and career women to learn the skills to get to their next level wherever they are in their business or career.

Who can attend this event?

The event is open to anyone who is serious about building themselves up and establishing connections with leading women, businesses targeted to women, or people who just want to learn one or two skills to benefit their life.

How will the event benefit a young Entrepreneur or someone who is looking into becoming one?

The essence of Women into Leadership is to help women understand the need for them to lead their own life to success. And to achieve success, one has to define and set their own goals. For young entrepreneurs and hopefuls, this conference will open a whole new channel of connection with successful entrepreneurs, opportunity to meet and develop contact with prospective collaborators, opportunity to ask questions directly to these experts who can be of real value both in the short and long run.

This event will also help them learn valuable skills to sustain their dreams and goals as well as help build their confidence and motivation.

How about women who are already in business for a long period of time?

Whatever level one is in life whether career or business, their is always a blind spot. Every entrepreneur need to refresh their skills and strategies at all times.  This is 2017, for instance, the algorithm used by google for SEO has changed drastically and if one continues to use the good old methods, you run the risk of having your website penalised and thus losing ranking. Also the way social media evolves everyday means any serious entrepreneur must be on top of their game if they want to remain relevant.

Why do you see the need for a ‘Women Empowerment Conference’?

We often hear empowerment at random, it has almost become a cliche now. This is different. We believe that an empowered woman is free and independent both financially, professionally, skillfully and her health, career and all areas of her life are in her control. That is why we need to equip our women with the necessary information to keep them on top of issues that are relevant to them. It is now an insult to women to think that empowering women only ends at charity handouts. Women are now in the forefront and has to be given the much respect they deserve and need to compete effectively in the world market at every level.

What are your future plans after the event on July 29th regarding the event?

The event is part of the overall Divas of Colour strategy to give women the best opportunity they need to be their best in the world wherever they find themselves. The professional and business knowhow to be confident, making informed decisions with whatever they decide to do. It has come to stay just as all other things we do.

Will you be hosting this conference in other countries or city in the nearest future?

Yes. Divas of Colour is a global brand and we are working with women from various locations As it is now, we have registered speakers from US, Uganda, Australia, Canada. And we are working closely with all our members.

Can someone who doesn’t leave in the UK benefit from the conference? if so how?

Yes. they can we have an online streaming link for them to login when they have both their tickets for this conference People can tune in live from wherever they are.

You have a powerful line of speakers on the day, can you briefly discuss why you selected this group of individuals?

Every Divas of Colour event has a focus and it is this that guides us on who is qualified to speak. We value and respect our women so much, therefore we have to make sure people who are the best at the topics we’re treating get to speak.

Can one pay online to attend the event on the day? How about at the door on the 29th?

Yes, all payment is via online at http://divasofcolour.com/women-into-leadership-conference-2017/ .  We discourage aiming to coming to pay on the day as we have to make sure the resources we have is enough for our audience. We have to give our venue our number to prepare for refreshments and conference booklets. So yes, if anyone comes to pay on the day, they find it will be more expensive.

When does the event starts and ends?

The event starts at 12noon and ends at 6pm. It’s a whole day of learning.

Are there any other informations or details you will like to share with us regarding the event?

Our message is consistent. We want more and more women to attain freedom and become their own life leader. Aim to influence opinions and be leaders in their various capacities. That is why we’re encouraging as many women as possible to attend this event.
