Queen Elizabeth has called an urgent meeting among members of the Royal Family to discuss a new role for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, following their decision to “step back” as senior royals.
BBC reports that the meeting, which is scheduled to hold at the Sandringham estate, is aimed at restoring order so as to prevent the ongoing farce that started as a result of the couples’ decision from escalation further.
Monday gathering will see the queen meet with the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry. While Meghan, who is currently in Canada, is expected to join the meeting via a conference call, as they weigh up what is being described as “complicated issues” by Buckingham palace.
Other matters up for discussion will include finding how Prince Harry and Megan Markle can achieve their aim of carving out new “progressive” roles as hybrid royals”.
