Talented American rapper Bashar Barakah Jackson professionally known as Pope Smoke has been shot dead in his home by unknown gunmen.
TMZ reports that Smoke, an up and coming rapper who released his sophomore album “Meet The Woo 2” just two weeks ago, was killed on Wednesday morning around 4:30 am in what appears to be a invasion robbery that terribly went wrong.
Multiple reports from law enforcement revealed that two unidentified men dressed in hoodies invaded the rappers home while firing several shots that struck him in critical areas.
The wounded star was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was pronounced dead at the age of 20.
For now, the motives of the assailant remains unknown and it is still unclear if Pope Smoke had prior knowledge of the shooters.
It comes barley a year after the young rapper announced his emergence with the critically acclaimed album titled “Meet The Woo” released back in July 2019.
“Welcome to the party,” a song from the album, became an instant hit, drawing praises from the likes of Niki Minaj and Travis Scott. It ended up being hailed by many as the song of the summer.
RIP Pope Smoke.
