Rapper and presidential hopeful Kanye West has a history of significant mental health struggles and appears to be going through an episode following some erratic claims he made in a series of tweet over the past couple of days.
Kanye West claimed in his latest round of tweetstorm that he has been trying to get a divorce after his wife, Kim Kardashian, connived with rapper Meek Mills to get him “locked up.”
These tweets about his wife were among a stretch of wide-ranging tweets where he claimed that the movie ‘Get Out’ was based on him, referenced various other celebrities like Drake randomly, referred to his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, as “Kris Jong-Un” and also made mention of his children in a disorderly manner.
While the tweets have been deleted,
the discussion surrounding Kanye’s mental health has taken over a large corner of the online world, with many people conceded about his well being.
Kim Kardashian has now moved to shed more light on her husband’s state of mind.
In a lengthy post shared via her Instagram stories on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, the reality television star revealed her husband’s outburst is as a result of his bipolar disorder, and the reason she decided to speak about it, including how it has affected their family, is to correct the stigma and misconception associated with mental illness.
She stated that West will always be subject to criticism due to his social status, but asked for “compassion and empathy” as her family deal with his disorder. She also voiced her support for her husband and stressed the importance of showing love and compassion towards people with mental illness as well as their loved ones.
