Popular Nigerian singer Burna Boy has got music lovers around the world excited with news of the imminent release of his new album titled ‘Twice as Tall’.

‘Twice as Tall houses 15 tracks, with most of them written and record amid the coronavirus pandemic. It features international acts such as Sauti Sol, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Naughty by Nature, and Youssou N’Dour. With production credits to Sean Combs a.k.a. Diddy, Anderson Paak and Timbaland.

In it, Burna Boy takes stock of his accomplishments and his vulnerabilities, and he encourages ambition and perseverance against long odds; he also parties. And he lashes out at racism, exploitation and widespread misconceptions about Africa.

For his new album, the African Giant said in an exclusive interview with the New York Times that he’s “basically continuing the mission I started, which is building a bridge that leads every Black person in the world to come together, and to make you understand that without you having a home base, you can’t be as strong as you are.”

The album is set to drop on Thursday, August 13, barring any further complication from the pandemic as noted by the singer in a recent chat with fans on Twitter.

Executive producer Diddy whose artistic presence is greatly felt on the upcoming album dubbed Burna Boy “a revolutionary” in a chat with the Times about his style of music and representation of Africa. He said: “The thing that I learned about him is the importance of what he’s doing for his nation and representing the people that aren’t really heard globally. Through this album, I think it’s important for Africa to be heard. And so it’s bigger than just an album. He’s not just on a musical artist trip. He’s a revolutionary. His conviction is serious.”
