The actress says the discolouration on her skin was caused by a new skin lotion.
Nollywood actress Ini Edo has taken to social media to debunk rumours suggesting she is bleaching.
Ini Edo recently moved to address fans concerning the discolouration spotted on her face which has led to hot gossip of the actress failed attempt to shed her true skin colour.
The movie star took to her Instagram page on Sunday, September 27, 2020, where she explained how her skin got discoloured.
Sharing a video of her face, Ini Edo revealed that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, she couldn’t access her regular skincare products and a friend recommended an alternative which she tried but it ended up damaging her skin.
She also stated that she has been battling with depression due to the extensive damage done to her skin by the product. Ini Edo said a first glance at her skin now makes people think she has eczema.
She further revealed that she hasn’t applied any body lotion for over a week as she looks to repair the damage and get her normal skin colour back again.
The movie star went on to reassure her fans that she is not making any attempt to bleach as she still cherishes being a brown skin girl.
“I’ve been depressed for a couple of days now because of my skin. You all know how much I love my skin and this terrible thing has happened to me. So, COVID happened and I ran out of skincare products and a friend of mine introduced me to this one. This is what I’ve been going through for the past one week. I haven’t used anything on my face for the past one week because I’m trying to let this wear off. I’m just doing this video to let people out there know that they are not alone. One wrong product can damage your skin forever. I’m just praying that brown doesn’t change like coke and fanta.”
