Bollywood Remakes Award Winning Nollywood Movie “Elevator Baby”


Nollywood 2019 movie, “Elevator Baby“, produced by Niyi Akinmolayan and directed by Akay Mason has gotten a Bollywood remake titled “Thank You Brother!”

Producer, Niyi Akinmolayan confirmed the news on his Instagram explaining hos Elevator Baby made to Netflix and was well received. and how a few weeks after, he got a call from a film producer in India who fell in love with the storyline and wanted to buy the rights for a remake.

“I thought it was a joke o…until dollars entered my akant!!! They have made a really beautiful Indian version and I can’t wait to watch it myself”.

He added.

“Elevator Baby was a labour of love and was so much hard work. I am glad Anthill Studios has opened a new opportunity for Nollywood revenue via remake rights!! Thank you very much Ramesh for doing this the right way. I can’t wait for us to have more collaborations in future. Maybe a Nollywood remake of a Bollywood hit 😁😁😁, And congrats to the cast and crew of #elevatorbaby!!! You guys made history.

He added.

The original story of Elevator baby movie revolves around a spoiled brat who gets stuck in an elevator with a heavily pregnant woman. The movie was well-received across Africa after its 2019 cinemas debut and on Netflix in 2020.\

“Elevator Baby” starred Timini Egbuson and Toyin Abraham, earning both AMVCA recognitions.

The movie is currently out in India and movie watcher love it. Many also thanked the movie makers for choosing the amazing storyline.
