Much-loved Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has taken on the discussion of marriage and sex on social media.
Stella Damasus says courtship is the period when couple bond together as they prepare for marriage.
The actress who recently turned 42 made this known during an Instagram chat she had with a couple.
In the conversation, she noted that courtship is an important foundation that should not be skipped by people in relationships looking to get married.
“Dating this person to a lot of people means sex and after immediately after that, marriage. they skip the actual dating and skip courtship. The courtship period is where that foundation should be built properly, where you are getting to know each other because you want to have a forever with that person,” she said
Speaking further, Stella also lift the lid on her own courtship with filmmaker husband, Daniel Ademinokan.
According to her, courtship was a testing period for her and Ademinokan as they were instructed by their pastor not to consummate their love before the actual wedding ceremony.
“That period for us was very tough. I felt so sorry for this man because we were told specifically by our pastor at that time that under no circumstance must we have any physical interaction. So, the man lamented and said how can I have a babe like this, and I can’t touch, I can’t look.” She added.
Stella and Ademinokan are closing in on their first decade of marriage since tying the knot in 2011.
