Yoruba Nation activists, Sunday Igboho according to his Legal Team expressed gratitude to Benin Republic Govt and people for standing with Yoruba nation and turning down the request to allow Nigerian security to force him back to Nigeria.
The lawyers added that Mr Igboho will continue his journey to an undisclosed country.
This comes after news broke in the early hours of July 20th 2020 that Sunday Igboho was arrested on Monday, July 19th night after fleeing Nigeria with his wife to evade arrest by Nigeria’s secret police DSS.
The Department of State Services had declared Igboho wanted after its operatives carried out a bloody midnight raid on his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State and Igboho escaped. He has been on the run since then until the recent development.
