When you think of some of the first and biggest Nollywood lover boys of all time, the name Emeka Ike comes to mind immediately. Then, he was not only tall, dark and handsome, but he was cool, calm and brilliant. Sadly, the legendary actor has been missing in action for a long time until recently, when he surfaced with a heartbreaking story of why he abandoned die-hard fans. Speaking with Hero Daniels on Channels TV Rubbin’ Minds Program, the 56-year-old actor revealed that his absence was due to his crashed marriage to his first wife and the allegations she made against him.
According to the actor best known for his role in ‘A Million Tears’, his German-Nigerian ex-wife was out to destroy him, and she almost succeeded. Nearly a decade ago, precisely in March of 2014, Emeka Ike’s 17-year marriage hit the rocks. His now ex-wife accused him of domestic abuse, abandonment, and abdicating his financial responsibilities as the man of the house and father to their four kids. But on his part, the ‘I Swear’ star actor blamed threats to his life as the reason his ex-wife opted for divorce. While refuting the allegations, the veteran actor cited his children as witnesses to his good character. The marriage was sadly dissolved in June of 2017, and Emeka Ike disappeared into oblivion, only to resurface with a completely different story.

According to Emeka Ike, when he thought the Actors Guild of Nigeria cabals was after his life, it was, in fact, his ex-wife who hired assassins to end him.
Not only that, the actor said her accusations of abuse dented his reputation so much so that he was depressed and ashamed of what he didn’t do, forcing him to go into hiding.
