Veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has taken to social media to express his displeasure about how some Nigerians have kept to the old habit of trolling him for his roles in past Nollywood movies.
Kanayo O. Kanayo has hit out on those who always portray him a ritualist after his participation in the trending #Don’tLeaveMe challenge was met with the similar slur remarks.
The challenge, which involves playing around with words and a hypeman to help make it fun, saw Kanayo post a video of himself asking if ‘a cat on a pillar makes it a caterpillar’. However, the actor’s own challenge was met with fierce outcry from Nigerians who joked that he only took part in the game for reasons relating to ritual.
This however did not go down well with the veteran movie star as he called out those who wanted to take the fun out of the challenge. He said:
“We are doing something about is Don’t Leave Me challenge, all you’re talking about is rituals. Go and do rituals with yourself. I’m playing a role. I’m not angry but the fact is that there are some people who don’t contribute anything to followership.
“All they want to do is distract you and when I go on their page, I see that they have only two people following them, meanwhile, I’m following about 1,000 people, so, why should I worry about you? But I don’t want you to distract others, let’s talk real.”
Respected actor Kanayo O. Kanayo is best known in Nollywood films as someone keen to get involved in any form of ritualistic practices in other to become rich.
