Popular gospel singer, Chinedu Nwadike has died of blood cancer, known as leukaemia at the age of 30 at a hospital in Abuja
Uche Nwosu, a former governorship candidate in Imo disclosed the death of Nwadike on his Facebook on Sunday.
According to Nwosu, “This afternoon, I received with shock the passing away of one of my great supporters, Evangelist Chinedu Nwadike, one of Nigeria’s best Gospel artistes who was suffering from kidney failure and leukaemia.
“Evang. Chinedu was a member of the Imo State Government Administration under His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and performed creditably in his office as the Special Assistant on Mobilization.

“He was also an active member of my Campaign Organization and supported me all through the 2019 Governorship Campaigns.

As soon as he was hospitalized at the National Hospital in Abuja, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, and members of our political family intervened to ensure that he had the best medical attention and rescue him from death.

“It’s quite unfortunate that we finally lost him this afternoon after preparing travel documents for his two brothers to fly to India with him for further treatment.
As an Evangelist and Gospel Musician, his death is not only a great loss to us but to the entire Christian community in Nigeria.”
Also, one of his friends, Darlington Chidera Ibekwe, said Nwadike died of blood cancer in Abuja.

“Rest In Peace Prince Chinedu Nwadike.

He lost the blood cancer battle a few hours ago in Abuja. When I spoke with him over the phone last week, he told me he had fully recovered from the kidney issue and would be proceeding to India by this coming week for treatment of the blood cancer – Leukemia.

“This is a sad development, we just lost a golden voice. Let us please remember his family in prayers. We were not completely fair to Evang. Chinedu Nwadike.

“Earlier, when his ailment surfaced online, so many people criticized him, those who called him fake, g#y and so on, it was way too much for him, way too much, a man lying on his sickbed, scrolling through his social media handles and seeing unfair comments, definitely wouldn’t go down well with him, even some pastors openly went against him,’ he lamented.

Ibekwe added: “He told us he got ‘miraculously’ healed of his kidney ailment, so many of us trolled him yet again and called him fake, said his ailment was fake, he was just using it to raise money, we said but today he is no more, he is dead, maybe, just maybe, his death is fake too, he just wants to attract sympathy, what a generation!
