Popular Nigerian singer Erigga has taken to social media to speak about the importance/danger of having the right/wrong sense of perspective in life.
Perspective is a particular way of thinking about something, especially one that is influenced by one’s believed or experience. And Erigga is of the opinion that it defines people’s future.
The philosophical music star took to his Twitter page on Monday, July 20, 2020, where he narrated a touching anecdote of two brothers who were raised by an alcoholic father.
According to him, one of the brothers grew to be an alcoholic, while the other also grew to detest alcoholic drinks.
When the alcoholic brother was questioned, he said he watched his father and the other brother who did not take alcohol said he also watched his father.
He then stated that perspective is everything in life as it determines the path people are likely to take.
He wrote: “2 brothers were raised by an alcoholic father. One grew up to be an alcoholic and when asked what happened,he said “ I watched my father”. The other grew up and never drank once and when asked why, he said “ I watched my father”. It is your perspective that determines your future.”

Erigga’s story should be understood as an illustration that teaches that how people chooses to interpret and respond to life circumstances depends on their perspective.
