The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas, has reacted to the death rumours making the rounds online about their ailing colleague, Zack Orji.

Taking to his Instagram page to debunk the rumours, he made it known that Zack is alive as he urged the public to ignore the rumours about peddlers, whom he described as mischief.

He stated that such rumours show how wicked people are, as he considered their behaviour unacceptable.

“Mr Zack Orji is alive

Please ignore mischief makers who enjoy circulating fake news.

This is to show how wicked some people can be. It is totally unacceptable.

He will not die but live to declare the good works of God in Jesus name”.

Africanglitz reported last year that Zack Orji was currently battling for his life and was in critical condition in the ICU of the National Hospital in Abuja. Friends of the ailing actor said Orji was unable to walk or talk, and all tests have been done to ascertain what’s wrong.

Following the news, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, visited him. Even the First Lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu, paid the veteran actor a visit at the hospital.

In January, Musawa gave an update on his health, revealing that the actor had undergone brain surgery after being transferred to a private hospital in Abuja. She appealed to Nigerians to show their support for the veteran, whom she described as a national asset.

It was a black Sunday on March 24th, as ailing actor Amaechi Muonagor kicked the bucket. The veteran, who had been battling kidney disease for months, had passed away.

The news was made known on Twitter by one Morris Monye, who noted that despite all efforts to save his life by flying him to India for treatment, he still died.

His death was the fourth death news story to hit Nollywood within a month. A week ago, Nollywood producer and marketer Ikechukwu Nnadi, better known as Andy Best, passed away.

The Nollywood giant was confirmed dead at a private clinic in Owerri, Ini State, on Tuesday, March 19th. The sad news was further confirmed by the convener of the Best Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, on his Instagram page.

He announced that the top producer and marketer died after battling a prolonged ailment, and his remains had been deposited at the Aladinma Mortuary in Owerri.

In February, Yoruba actor Sisi Quadri passed away after being rushed to the hospital in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State, after suffering persistent hiccups caused by kidney-related issues. The actor was laid to rest a day later in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State.

As Sisi Quadri was laid to rest, veteran actor Mr. Ibu gave up the ghost at Evercare Hospital. The actor, who had been battling for his life for months, kicked the bucket following a cardiac arrest.

His death threw the industry into mourning, as he was the beloved of many and had made our childhood memorable.
