Mixed reactions arise as the President and CEO of the Upper Room COGIC, totally condemn Beyonce and her new song, “Church girls” saying the latter sold her soul to the devil and calling the new single a sacrilege.
The famous singer released the track as an addition to her new “Renaissance” album and has been met with strong criticism from the charismatic leader, Bishop Wooten
“Beyonce just released a sacrilege. The only thing I can account of that stuff is, somebody done sold their soul to the devil,” he said.
The song featured a sample of the Clark Sisters’ 1981 track “Center of They Will,” and was appreciated by the lead singer of the band, Twinkie Clark, who expressed how proud she felt to have her song sampled by the iconic singer Beyonce.
As a result of this, Twinkie was also reprimanded by the Bishop who claims that the former should have known that Beyonce “isn’t saved.”
“I don’t know whether Twinkie knew what Beyonce was going to do with the song or not, but Twinkie knows Beyonce isn’t saved. I pray to God that a stiff denunciation of what she did with that song is put out,”
…he added.
