Chimamanda Adichie is sending love to John Boyega as she reels in the aftermath of his touching speech at Hyde Park.

Nigerian author and activities, Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie has commended actor John Boyega for confronting racial discrimination during a George Floyd protest in London’s Hyde Park.

The star Wars actor was among thousands of Black Lives Matter demonstrators who took to the streets of London to speak out against racism and the injustice carried  out on the black race and people of colour.

Chimamanda says watching him speak at the protest broke her heart and made her cry in a recent video shared on Instagram.

According to the award-winning author, what Boyega did was called for and at the same time very important even though it came at an emotional cost. She went on to console him by praying that he gets all the love he needs during this difficult times.

She said: “Watching John Boyega speak at the protest in Hyde Park, it broke my heart, made me cry. I’m sending love to you John. I hope that you’re surrounded by love because I think what you’re doing is necessary and very important but it also comes at a cost emotionally. So I’m sending you all my love and admiration and pride.

And so many young black people out there who are dealt with so much cr*ap overtime and they’re out there doing their thing and it’s so admirable. It’s so admirable to see them taking up space.”

Boyega was reduced to tears at some point in his address to demonstrators as he feared for his career. He said: “I’m speaking to you from my heart. Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but f*** that.”
