Top Nigerian singer Davido has announced that his fiancée Chioma Rowland has tested positive to COVID-19 that causes the novel coronavirus.
Davido says his wife-to-be, chioma Rowland, has the coronavirus after travelling to the United Kingdom.
The singer disclosed the sad news via a series of tweets released on his Twitter page towards the evening hours of Friday, March 27, 2020.
Davido, who recently returned from the United States of America after cancelling his tour said he, his fiancee and their close associates decided to go for coronavirus test on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, because of their recent travel history.
Hey everyone ! I came back recently from America after cancelling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all 1/2

But after the test, only Chioma’s result came back positive out of the thirty-one people that were tested including himself and son, Ifeanyi.

Though the singer noted that Chioma is asymptomatic and will continue to be monitored closely under quarantine. Davido also revealed that he has gone into isolation for the required 14 days and then thanked everyone for their support.

The Risky crooner went on to advice people to remain indoor in other to curtail the spread of the virus.

His announcement came barley hours after the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed five new cases of coronavirus cases that increased the number of confirmed cases of the disease in Nigeria to 70.
The coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.
