Former Nigerian defender Joseph Yobo has been appointed assistant head coach of the Super Eagles.
Yobo was made assistant coach by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as a replacement for the departed Imama Amapakabo after getting the nod from head coach Gernot Rohr.
“The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed former Super Eagles’ defender and captain Joseph Yobo as assistant coach of the team. He replaces Imama Amapakabo in the three-time African champions’ technical crew,” an NFF statement reads.
A former captain of the Super Eagles, Joseph Yobo made 100 outlings with the national team and led them to AFCON glory in 2013.
