When is the Met Gala 2022?
Traditionally Met the Gala happens on the first Monday in May each year and this year’s, there is no difference. The 2022 Met Gala will took place on Monda, May 2nd for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City.
This is just eight months after last year’s event, which was delayed several times because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Who is on the guestlist for the 2022 Met Gala?
On March 17, Vogue announce that 2022 hosts will include Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as the night’s official co-chairs.
While designers such as Tom Ford, Instagram boss, Adam Mosseri and Vogue editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour will continue as honorary co-chairs.
Anna Wintour has run the Met Gala since 1995, she has shaped the event into the much-loved annual celebration of fashion we know today.
Although we have not seen a complete guest list of celebs that will come up, but we do know of a few big names that will attend.
Yesterday, Vogue confirmed that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson will be on the red carpet together.
Katy Perry and Megan Thee Stallion told New York celebrity news site Page Six, that they will attend the 2022 event.
No information for now on if Rihanna, who is heavily pregnant, will attend the event or not.
What is the theme of the 2022 Met Gala?
The theme of the 2022 Met Gala is; In America: An Anthology of Fashion
And it is built around the tenets of American style, and it celebrates unsung heroes of US design.
The theme is in line with one exhibition which has been named Anthology of Fashion, which will open in the museum on May 7.
This year’s theme is all that different from last year’s theme, which is; In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.
But this is not because they can’t come up with a different theme — Vogue described the 2022 and the 2021 events as “twin affair”.
Last year’s event appeared a bit different because they postponed it to September because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
