Celebrity wife Chrissy Teigen is sharing details about the tragic loss of her son Jack at 20 weeks pregnant.
The TV personality and cookbook author announced she and husband John Legend had lost their third child, a boy named Jack, shortly after his birth late last month.
In a heartbreaking essay posted on the writing platform Medium on Tuesday, the model opened up about being diagnosed “with partial placenta abruption,” recalling the moment after she had spent time at the hospital due to heavy bleeding when “it was time to say goodbye” to her baby.
Teigen, 34, said she asked for photographs of the tragic ordeal “no matter how uncomfortable it was” because “I just needed them”.
She also touched on her moments of sadness and joy since the loss, noting how Jack will always remain with the family and thanking everyone who had reached out to her family.
“I knew for me I needed to say something before I could move on from this and return back to life, so I truly thank you for allowing me to do so,” she said.
“Jack will always be loved, explained to our kids as existing in the wind and trees and the butterflies they see,” the mother of two added. “Thank you so much to every single person who has had us in their thoughts or gone as far as to send us your love and stories. We are so incredibly lucky.”
Chrissy and John tied the knot in Italy back in September of 2013, and they share daughter Luna Simone, four, and son Miles Theodore, two.
