For some time now, there have been rumors that Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa are no longer best friends, and this was confirmed at a recently held event in Lagos that had the two ladies in attendance.
We recall that the two female stars, Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa, used to attend functions together, club together, be big on each other’s birthday celebrations, and have each other’s backs. Like during Tiwa’s clash with Seyi Shay in 2021, Toke supported her friend, saying that Tiwa is capable of making sure that she wins any fight.
However, things soon turned sour between them in early 2022. It was alleged that the two ladies stopped being friends over a man they both had an interest in.
It got so bad that Toke Makinwa failed to celebrate Tiwa Savage after she bagged an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Kent in July 2022.
The two celebrities unfollowed each other on social media, stopped hanging out or sending birthday wishes, and interestingly, Toke Makinwa started flaunting a new best friend.
So, recently, the Lagos socialite, Chief Mrs. Rainot Olufunke Alaba Oniru, threw an elaborate 70th birthday party in Lagos, and it was star-studded.
It was an array of dignitaries and Foremost Lagos Society women of class in attendance.
Both Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa were in attendance, but they shunned each other all through and ensured to sit far away from each other. While Toke Makinwa was adorned in a yellow abaya, Tiwa rocked denim on denim and had her bodyguard around her all through the occasion.
