Over the weekend, a 15-year-old tennis prodigy Coco Gauff became the youngest tennis player to qualify for Wimbledon in the Open era after defeating famous tennis player, Venus Williams, 39.
Gauff said Venus and Serena Williams were the reason why she picked up a tennis racket. Gauff just defeated Venus Williams (6-4, 6-4) in the first round. She is now known as the youngest player since 1991 to win in the first round of the ladies’ singles.
After the match, Gauff thanked Williams and told her that she “wouldn’t be here” without her.
