The 9thannual crowning of the prestigious Miss Uganda UK pageant saw 10 finalists from around the UK battle it out to become the next Queen taking over Peninah Wampamba. This year’s grand finale that was held in south London on Saturday 28th September at Ark Globe Academy was yet another sell-out event and a great success within the Uganda Community in the UK.
The youngest of the finalists Miss Ochana who’s studying her levels in Sociology, English Literature & History emerged the winner on the night scooping also the Best Catwalk award given by the judges and the face (ambassador) of LaPrinsesa hair. Caitlin will be carrying out the official Miss Uganda UK campaign alongside Jubilee Campaign UK raising awareness against Child Sacrifice in Uganda and is now the official ambassador & face and voice of Jubilee Campaign Uganda. In 2nd place (1stPrincess) was contestant No.2 Teopista Nakitende who was awarded Best Creative Wear and in 3rdplace (2ndPrincess) was awarded to contestant No.3 Reyne Kakooza winning the ambassador role (the face) of Maureen Skin Care.

Best Ambassador (social media activity) – Ashley Mbabazi
Rising Woman award (MUUK team) – Ashley Mbabazi
Best Swim Wear (by the judges) – Jawhara Nsubuga
Best Evening Wear (by the judges) – Kathryn-Zeta Pope
Game changers (judge’s recognition) – Nisha Kilembwe & Nabila Mpanga
Entertainment on the night was from UK Ugandan artists Sarah Mwaka, Shamim Nalule (both former Miss Uganda UK finalists) and Buyiza. The guest of honour on the night was a representative from Uganda High Commissioner to UK and Ireland Mrs Juliet Mugerwa.
