Despite losing in the inaugural African category, Tyla received sincere congratulations from emerging wonder Ayra Starr and Nigerian superstar Davido.

Even though they were disappointed, their kind and sportsmanlike actions show how supportive and kind the African music scene is.

Recall that on Sunday night, Tyla defeated Ayra Starr, Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, and Olamide to win the coveted gramophone?

However, using their separate social media accounts, Davido and Ayra Starr congratulated Tyla on her win.

“Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa ! Big One for Africa! Keep soaring!,” Davido wrote on his X page.

On Monday morning, Ayra Starr wrote on her X handle:

“Congratulations to my babessssss @Tyllaaaaaaa.”

Tyla and Ayra Starr previously worked on her popular song, ‘Girl Next Door.’

Ayra Starr stated in an interview days before the ceremony that she had already planned her Grammy acceptance speech.

A few hours ago, Davido revealed how he would celebrate if he won the Grammy.

Nigerian afrobeats singer Davido expresses his overwhelming emotions towards the possibility of winning a Grammy Award.

Recall that Davido’s ‘Unavailable‘ featuring Musa Keys is one of five songs nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammys.

In an interview with Billboard during the Pre-Grammy show, Davido stated that if he wins the Best African Music Performance award, he will celebrate wildly.

Davido admitted that the prestigious global recognition would undoubtedly push him over the edge, igniting a wildfire of excitement within him.

However, he declared that no matter who wins, he will be glad for Africa.
