6th Kitenge Festival UK – One Community Celebrating Africa!

This is the biggest annual cultural event bringing all African businesses & startup to communities gathering in London featuring African themed businesses, live music, fashion shows, fascinating talks, creative workshops and tasty freshly cooked grub and many many more.

The event appeals to the general public and will be attended by influential figures, community leaders, movers and shakers, tastemakers that take active roles in setting the mould for style, cultural trends and overall ingenuity within the African Community. Last year the event had an audience of about 800 guests and this year they’re looking to double that.

“Our goal is to bring together bright minds, industry insiders to give talks that are idea focused on a wide range of subjects to foster business, learning, and inspiration and provoke conversations. This event will be promoted as London’s premier cultural event featuring great music, live performances, networking, product sampling, African cuisine, vendor, stalls, gift bags, cultural dancers, competitions, poetry, fashion shows and craft displays”. Said Jo Nganda 

Kitenge Festival was founded by Jo Nganda and will be hosted by Miss Uganda UK founder Mrs Jacqueline Matovu Dumba and JCI Greenwich Marketing Executive Mr Hope Tariro Chirengwa.

A carefully selected panel of community leaders championing Africa’s agenda including Ovi King, Hair Care Revolution, Dr. Mercy Chieza Equipped for Excellence, Mary Mambwa, In Her Mind, Mama Sia AHBA  Award Winners, Fikelelphi Jackson Against all Odds Still Standing.

Charity

The importance of empowering Kitenge Festival UK’s role in the community is very important for all our social responsibility. This event is aimed at strengthening community cohesion, peer promotion and bringing artists together, promoting small business enterprises, empowering those participating through motivational speakers and transforming lives through youth initiatives and annual fundraising events to help victims of domestic abuse in the community through our charity program Hope Alive Mission. This year the initiative will be fundraising for SafeLives, a small charity that campaigns and supports victims of Domestic Abuse.
