A Kenyan actress broke onto the red carpet scene some few months ago with the promo events of the movie 12 Years A Slave, and immediately made an impact as one of the most beautiful and stylish stars to watch out for.

while showing off one amazing look after another ,we can’t get over but admire her high-fashion, versatile sense of style! Whether she’s rocking a glam gown or a form-fitting ensemble, she always stands out. Who is this girl?

A short bibography:

Lupita Amondi Nyong’o is her name, Born in Mexico  in 1983, raised in Kenya and Educated in United States.She is the 2nd of 6 children and her father, Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o is a senator in Kenya. Lupita Nyong’o is an actress and a film director. after graduating from Yale University School of Drama Acting program. She made an American film debut that introduced her to the world in Steven McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave movie late 2012, she played Patsey, a young woman who was brutally demoralized for which she received critical acclaim. Lupita won the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), Critics’ Choice Award (CCA) for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Nominated for the Golden Globe however did not win, BAFTA and Academy Award  for best supporting Actress.

Lupita is not new to the big screen, she worked on the production crew of many films before breaking through, including Fernando Meirelles, The Constant GardenerThe Namesake and much more. She returned to Kenya in 2008 and starred in the Kenyan television series called Shuga. In 2009, she wrote, directed and produced a documentary called ‘In My Genes‘ which was about the treatment of Kenya’s albino population.She will next be featured in Liam Neeson’s upcoming film Non-Stop

In 2014, she was chosen as one of the faces for Miu Miu’s Spring 2014 campaign. ‘We are not surprise!’ as we absolutely love her fashion style. She knows her colour and knows how to work it. She doesn’t only make Kenyans proud but the rest of Africa too. she has made it clear to Africans and Black people in general that your colour doesn’t matter, ‘yes!’ dreams come true.
