Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku is starting the year with a testimony after escaping death.

The wife of Iroko TV, Jason Njoku, revealed via her Instagram page that a few hours into 2024, she almost didn’t make it because she was involved in a major accident.

The mother of three stated that she still can’t believe how she escaped the accident, but she did because it wasn’t her time.

Expressing gratitude to her Maker, Mary revealed her New Year resolution as she promised to slow down and live life every day as if it were going to be her last. The reason is that one day she will be dead, as life is too short to be anything but happy.

“Few hours to 2024. I almost didn’t make it. What could have been a major accident averted?

Still don’t know how I escaped it. But I did. It wasn’t my time. So ALMOST doesn’t count.

It’s 2024, and I am still here, thankful for Life. I will slow down and love life every day as if it were going to be my last. Cos one day, it will be. Just like 31st December, 2023.

Life is too short to be anything but happy. Grateful.

If it’s not time, it’s NOT your time! 2023 was NOT my TIME”.

In her comment section, many rejoiced with her for escaping death.

Towards the end of the year, a lot of celebrities were either involved in an accident or escaped death in some way.

A day ago, veteran actress Ireti Doyle shared a harrowing experience on Instagram, where she spoke out about a near-death encounter with carbon monoxide poisoning.

She recounted how a stop at the mall during her time-out with her kids turned into a life-threatening situation as she was discovered unconscious in the car, foaming at the mouth with blood trickling down her nose.

Doyle narrated how the best Nigerian medical personnel, logistics, and every resource needed miraculously fell into place and also acknowledged that a slight shift in any factor could have robbed her of the chance to share this testimony.

Actress, Regina Daniels ended the year with gratitude after escaping death for the second time in 2023. She recounted her near-death experience while visiting her beloved state Asaba, Delta State, accompanied by her politician husband.

She revealed that the only thing she thought of at that point was her children as death looked at her face for the second time and her heart almost exploded because it was at the same frequency as the plane.

On December 20th, Yoruba actress, Bukola Arugba was involved in an accident on Third Mainland Bridge, which left her car severely damaged. Narrating the incident, she pondered on how her car could crash twice within the space of an hour while adding that no one could imagine the state she was left in.

Two days later, Mercy Aigbe had escaped death, after her car tyre burst on the highway while returning to Lagos from Benin. She described the incident as a scary, horrific, and terrible experience, which left her panicked.

To top off the list, actor, Kelechi Udegbe survived a ghastly car accident. While writing a note to his creator, he shared photos and videos of the accident scene, which left his car severely damaged and landed him in the hospital.
