Popular Nigerian singer Burna Boy lost out In the World Music Album category of the 2020 Grammys Awards to Beninese music icon Angelique Kidjo.
His album ‘African Giant’ came short of winning him a Grammy as he lost out to Angeliqu Kidjo who won the Best World Music Album award at the ceremony for her album ‘Celia’.

During her acceptance speech, Kidjo dedicated the honor to the dancehall singer and acknowledged him for his role in changing the way in which the continent is perceived.
“Burna Boy is among those young artistes that come from Africa that is changing the away our continent is perceived and the way African music has been the bedrock of every music,” she said.
Kidjo’s win last night took her Grammy tally in the category to four, and another four in the overall Academy awards.
