Anthony Joshua will go head to head against Tyson Fury in a historic bout in the United Kingdom, according to his promoter.

It has been confirmed that British world heavyweight champions Anthony
Joshua and Tyson Fury have agreed to a two-fight deal.

News of the highly anticipated duel was announced by Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn who said that his client has reached an agreement to face countryman and fierce rival, Tyson Fury in the much-awaited unification fight.

“We have a financial deal in place between the two of them for two fights in 2021”, Hearn told the BBC in an exclusive chat. However, it is understood that no contracts has been signed.

“It doesn’t get any bigger. It’s two British world heavyweight champions fighting for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world,” Haren added.

Both Britons are in possession of all the belt in their category. Joshua, 30, holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts, while 31-year-old Fury is the WBC champion.

Fury has expressed his delight at the news in a social media post. He said he would fight Joshua in 2021, but would first have to overcome the “hurdle in the road”, Deontay Wilder, in a third meeting. Fury is contracted to fight the American, from whom he won the WBC title in February.

The unification match between Joshua and Fury is set to take place in the United Kingdom pending the consolidation of venue and date.
