Being in a relationship for a long time can be hard. And staying faithful to a spouse in marriage can prove to be even harder. But if there’s one man who is qualified enough to give marriage counsels on how to be in it and still remain faithful, it has to be BBNaija 2019 star and first runner up Mike Edwards — the only married male who made it to the reality contest that is known for serving up erotic experiences and came out with his marriage still intact.
Though the handsome athlete has only been married to his gorgeous model wife Perri Shakes-Drayton for a couple of months, that hasn’t prevented their union from drawning an awful lot of sincere admiration from both ordinary Nigerians and those in his industry who are perplexed at how they keep waxing stronger..
Mike has now taken to his social media space to share valuable tips on how to be in it for the long haul and still remain faithful as a man.
According to him, he gets asked this question a lot and so moved to his Instagram page to give his take on the issue.
Here is what he has to say:
“How do you stay faithful? I get asked this question a lot lately and despite the obvious reason of falling in love with the most incredible woman whom I get to call wife (@itspsd.), I figure I’d write my answer here for what it’s worth. Well, my answer is strength not weakness. A man with no self-discipline will fall weak and lead astray, having the discipline and respect for yourself and significant other becomes a habit, and with time habit becomes second nature.
I would also say that sacrifice is a vital part of what has helped me. The key is you have to be able to sacrifice who you are, (ex. old habits) for who you’ll become. Don’t be afraid of taking the road less traveled in the process. Hint: Find yourself spiritually.
Lastly is your environment. I believe in the saying you are the company you keep. My advice is to surround yourself with people who have similar standards and family values as you. Simple.”
