Beyonce and Jay Z nine-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy became the first 9-year-old to Bag a Grammy after featuring on Brown Skin Girl, a body of work that honours the beauty of Black and brown girls across the globe that went viral in 2019. She claimed the honour alongside her mother, Beyonce, as well as Nigeria’s Wizkid, and Sn’t Jhn for their collaboration on the video for the song, which appeared in 2019, “The Lion King: The Gift” soundtrack.

The track was so successful that it remained on Billboard’s Hot 100 for more than three months. Beyonce, on the night, made history by becoming the most decorated female Grammy winner ever and has in her possession 28 Grammy awards as of March 2021.

During the BET Awards in 2020, She took home the BET Her Prize at the age of 8, again for the Brown Skin Girl song, making her the youngest winner in the award show’s 20-year history. She also won an NAACP Image Award for the same song before her biggest in 2021, the Grammys.
