British Nigerian football, who is popularly known as Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint after burglars broke into his north-London home on May 13th. He was allegedly punched and suffered minor facial injuries. The 2 men who are reported to be wearing masks stole watches and jewellery before living the 24-year-old footballer traumatised.
According to Sky’s Sports News, the England International footballer was staying in the mansion with his brother, his girlfriends and another one of his friends when the robbery incident occurred.
The Police have also confirmed that two of the male residents were assaulted during the incidents, with reports stating Alli was one of those attacked, they, however, did not require hospital treatment. According to Police reports, no arrests have currently been made because they’re still looking into the case.
The police statement for the case states that the two male robbers gained entry into the property and stole items of Jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.
The incident comes two months after the family of Alli’s Tottenham team-mate Jan Vertonghen were burgled by armed men with knives at their north London home.
Alli had scored nine goals in 35 appearances for Tottenham when the season was suspended in March because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Dele Alli has broken his silence after the incident. He took to Twitter to thank fans for all their messages admitting the burglary was a horrible experience, but they’re ok now.

Alli was born in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire to a Yoruba Nigerian father and an English mother. His father Kehinde moved to the United States a week after Alli’s birth and Alli was initially brought up by his mother during his younger days.
At the age of nine, he moved to Nigeria with his father, where he spent two years in an international school before returning to Milton Keynes, England to live with his mother. Alli went to Stantonbury Campus and The Radcliffe School in Wolverton. He mother at this point reportedly suffered from alcohol problems.
Around the age of 13, he moved into the family home of Alan and Sally Hickford, parents of another young footballer with MK Dons and whom he refers to as his “adoptive parents” although he was never legally adopted by them, In the summer of 2016, Alli elected to stop wearing his surname on his match shirts because he felt no connection with the Alli family name, and changed it to “Dele.
Alli joined the youth system at Milton Keynes Dons when he was 11 years old. He made his debut for the first team as a sixteen-year-old on 2 November 2012 and since then, the sky has been his limit.
Alli is a huge fan of British hip hop music, this led rapper Cadet to release a single referencing the footballer called “Advice”.
In February 2015, it was reported that John Fashanu tried to convince Alli to play for Nigeria. However, on 1 October of that year, he was included in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the final UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying matches against Estonia and Lithuania. We hope someday he will consider playing for Nigeria.
