The annual autumn ARA Awards, organized by the Building Blocks Initiative (BBI), was a memorable night that fulfilled its promise of relaxation, thought-provoking discussions on the theme “BEYOND WINDRUSH 75- AFRICAN RENAISSANCE,” and networking opportunities.

The event also featured a mystery BBI ARA WARDS AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR 2023 interactive competition trophy and raffle prizes, including a donated FREE Night’s Stay at the Hilton London Kensington.

The ARA Awards have become a highly anticipated event in the Black and Minority Ethnic business and social calendar, offering recognition, networking opportunities, and a sense of togetherness. Dignitaries and important guests, including Cllr Michael Shitu, the Worshipful Mayor of Southwark, attended the event.

The evening was filled with performances by talented artists such as AREMUORIN and Aslan Nester.

I am grateful for the opportunity to collect my award few days shortly after my swift departure for the next performance in town.

Thank you for your support and recognition. It is important to protect your inner peace, as external influences can lead to turmoil. I choose not to succumb to such pressures.

Remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Embrace and nurture love where you currently stand.
