Catholic Priest Reverend Father Albert Ofere has finally fulfilled his ambition of joining the music industry by writing a catchy dance Afrobeats tune. The priest who is the former National Chaplain of the Nigerian Catholic Chaplaincy, England & Wales and based in London is the first priest to join the Afrobeats genre industry with a new track called ‘God Dey My Side‘. The music is accompanied by a dance video that will leave you wanting more. The video directed by award-winning film-maker Obi Emelonye is currently causing waves across Africa and UK.

Rev Fr. Abert’s has just launched his first album titled ‘Everyday Of My Life‘ with all songs written by him and produced by Geejamz, Manni Koya and the Outlanders Music, using the studio of Muyiwa ‘Riversongz.’ The album is made up of six tracks. The songs have different moods and feelings. Asked why he wrote the song ‘God dey my side.’ Rev. Fr Albert said, “I love this track. It makes a good listen. Without paying attention to the lyrics the song moves one to dance. It is catchy. Both young and old can relate to it irrespective of race. You may call it a Christian Afro pop song and I hope it will be enjoyed by many.”

As for the entire album this is what he had to say, “this album is one of the many ways of acknowledging our great and loving God, the Ancient of Days, the Rock of Ages, the I Am that I Am, our Everlasting Father! God’s goodness is awesome and so overwhelming, so very much evident every day of our lives. His providence cannot be ignored. God is doing so much in our lives that we must acknowledge Him, and return thanks to Him.
It’s a privilege to join in chorusing God’s goodness and I’m glad I’m graced to do this!”

As a chaplain of the Nigerian Catholic Chaplaincy in England and Wales, Rev. Fr Albert’s task was to build a visible coercive Nigerian Catholic Community, providing a spiritual and pastoral care to Nigerians in a culturally sensitive way, and creating an atmosphere of friendly co-operation, harmonious relationships and a family spirit. ‘Home away from Home.’
