Chief Dr Morocco Maduka

Nigerian artist, Chief Dr. Morocco Maduka hosted London-based African mothers to a pre-mothers Day concert on Saturday the 18th of March in Hackney. African mothers, mostly Igbos came out and got what they expected, an evening of fun, merriment and great Live performance by Chief Morocco Maduka himself.

The event was organised by African Euro Hospitality Association, together with the Nigerian-British Hospitality Association. With a hall packed with fans, the night was one to remember. Popular London Dj, DJ Omo Whyte also delivered some interesting tracks from current Afrobeats singers which became the highlight of the evening.

The annual event kicked off with red carpet interviews, sociable atmosphere and great music. Delicious Nigerian food from Coco’s Afric-Carib Restaurant’s catering was served to the audience while they enjoyed and dance away the night.

Chief Dr. Prince Morocco Maduka also took his place beside such eminences as Area Scatter, Show Promoter, and Chief Akunwafor Ezigbo Obiligbo. Obioma Special (Sammy Sparkle All Stars SSAS 011, 1981) is the sort of album that will make one fall in love with Igbo traditional music. Amongst the highlight of the night was Dr Morocco’s popular and brilliant interplay of call-and-response vocals with the lyrics touching on contemporary concerns. Of course, there’s the usual obsequious praise-singing which the great audience danced away to.

In all, the evening was exceptional and  a huge success compared to the previous year. Chief Morocco’s fans danced away the night until about 3am the next day.
