DAVIDO’S EARLY RELATIONSHIP WITH CHIOMA UNKNOWN TO THE PUBLICE BETWEEN 2013 – 2019
The award-wining Nigerian artist and Chioma became friends in 2013, but began dating in 2015. Davido spoke about the start of their relationship in 2020 during an interview, he said:
““I have known Chioma for about seven years. We have been dating for about five years. Lati introduced me to Chioma. We went to the same school, Babcock University. We started as friends but I got so used to her and she got so used to me as well. She is a great cook as well.”
However, the couple didn’t make their relationship public or official until 2017, when Chioma starred in Davido’s music video for Assurance. Since then, Davido said to The Juice that the video heated a spiral of hate towards both Chioma and her family from fans:
“Even her parents use to get hate texts. It affected our relationship a lot because, before the Assurance video, stuff was so cool. The relationship became a public relationship.”
CHIOMA AND DAVIDO SAILED THIER SHIP TO THE NEXT LEVEL IN 2019
The lovebirds got engaged in Lagos after meeting their families in September 2019. In October of 2019, they welcomed their first son together: David Adedeji Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr.
The wedding which was set to take place in July 2020 was brought to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, in a Bounce Radio interview, Davido explained:
“Honestly, Coronavirus messed plans up because it was meant to be in July. I have decided it will be some time next year. For now, I want her to work on her business while I work on my album and the kids. I want everything to balance first.”
However, it was mistaken for a perceived split by fans.
DAVIDO’S ACTIONS SPARKED RUMOURS OF A BREAK UP BETWEEN THE DUO IN 2021
However two years later, Davido’s relationship has been marred by a lot of speculations. Fans stirred the rumour of their break up after spotting Davido Mingling and holding hands with Mya Yafia, an Instagram Model while on vacation in the Caribbean in Febuary 2021.
It was finally confirmed that the Davido and Chioma ship had finally crashed when photos of Davido and Mya Yafia kissing at a party in the United states went viral in , March 2021.
DAVIDO REUNITES TO CELEBRATE SON’S SECOND BIRTHDAY IN 2021
On Saturday, October 23, 2021, Davido reunited with Mother of his first son, Chioma to celebrate the second birthday of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke. That was the first time Davido and Chioma were seen together since the news of their separation emerged, early that year. They both posed for the cameras at their son’s birthday party. Nevertheless Some fans were not convinced by this, as they believed the duo had to come together for their son and were not yet close to reconciliation. Many commentators even claimed Chioma distanced herself from Davido at the party.
DAVIDO AND CHIOMA’S REUNION EARLY 2022
Early 2022, Davido had another reunion with his estranged baby mama, Chioma at a family gathering. In a video that surfaced online, the singer and Chioma were spotted hanging out with some of Davido’s family members including his elder brother, Adewale, cousin B-Red and personal lawyer, Bobo Ajudua and their families. This second chance at a reunion, got many fans wondering if this was going to be the one that brings them back together.
Ever since their reunion in January, they both seemed to have decided to spend more time with each other, and this is starting to get music fans excited, once again.
Chioma attended Davido’s concert at the London O2 Arena early March , as he sent his private jet to pick up Chioma and their son, Ifeanyi ahead of the concert. They were also seen in several outings together, weeks after Davido’s show ended.
Fans spotted the singer passionately singing to one of his old songs dedicated to Chioma, Assurance, and the lovely video emerged online. Davido sang the song at the after party of his hugely successful London O2 Arena show and fans could not stop talking about it, as they expressed their admiration for them.
SEPTEMBER 2022 REUNION
Fast forward to September 2022, Chioma shared some stunning photos of her looking beautiful like she was going on a date. Hours later, a video of her rocking a “002” 30BG pendant while cheering Davido at his Lagos concert went viral.
After the show, the lovebirds were spotted holding hands, sparking yet another relationship news.
Well, It seems like the Davido and Chioma ship is about to sail off again!
