Veteran American pop star Akon, famous for his unpopular opinions and divisive comments, has dropped yet another one.
Akon was recently on the popular podcast show The Drink Champs and was asked his thoughts about Afrobeats and its meteoric growth over the last decade.
During the conversations about Afrobeat, Akon was asked to pick between the two biggest Afrobeat superstars out of Nigeria, Davido and Burna Boy.
Akon picked Davido as his favorite while describing the young Afrobeat superstar as a beast who doesn’t get enough recognition for how much hard work he puts into his craft.

Nigerians are the most smartest people on earth” Akon declared
Meanwhile, Africanglitz reported that Akon was trending across the Nigerian social media space after his recent interview with ace podcaster Big Boi went public.
During the interview, the hip-hop singer declared that Nigerians are the most intelligent people in the world.
However, he noted that this might be debatable, and he stands to be corrected.
Akon also said there might be some bad apples in the country ruining the image of Nigeria by committing different crimes, but that still doesn’t change the fact that Nigerians are brilliant people.
The Lonely Singer added that nowhere in the world can currently match Nigerians at the rate they have been churning out billionaires recently.
He expressed that even the bad apples are usually brilliant people who have just chosen to direct their intellect towards the wrong channels.
