Fans are angry and asking why Olamide didn’t win any award at the 12th Headies award despite ‘Wo!’ which can be classified as one of the biggest hits of the year. Another legend who was nominated with no Headies this year is Adekunle Gold, what went wrong?

The 12th Headies award, the biggest music award from Nigeria took place on Saturday, May 5th in Lagos, Nigeria and saw Davido, Wizkid and Simi bag 3 huge awards each, this is excluding their collaborations.

The YBNL boys, whom you will think 2018 is one of their best year so far went home empty-handed.

Olamide performed creditably well last year. While his Wobey album might have received less attention from fans, ‘Wo! did wonders and should actually have won “The Street Hop Award” ahead of Small Doctor‘s Penalty. Even actress; Genevieve Nnaji will agree to that.

This year, the YBNL boss released over 4 hit songs with the last one being his collaboration with Wizkid. What went wrong??

Adekunle Gold is another powerful singer that went home with nothing, on the night Simi won three Awards with her alternative-pop style. Adekunle Gold Fans need an explanation!

Adekunle Gold

Some fans believe because Adekunle Gold was nominated against heavyweights who had a better year than him and thus, didn’t have much hope.

“His last album was good but when compared to Wizkid’s Come Closer and Simi’s Simisola, he doesn’t rank any way higher than them”. Said a concerned fan.

Adekunle Gold has to sit down and properly analyze his style of music’. His fan added.

Other artists who didn’t win an award include Lil Kesh.

But our throbbing question is what really is going wrong with the YBNL Boys?
