The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday, March 30, that it is beginning disciplinary proceedings against actor Will Smith after slapping Chris Rock on stage at Sunday night’s Oscars event. Despite being asked, the group also revealed that Smith refused to leave the awards ceremony following the altercation. He was also spotted at the Oscars after-party dancing to ‘Getting Jiggy with it.”
According to reports, Chris Rock and Will Smith haven’t spoken to each other and are yet to reconcile. Chris Rock had finally broken his silence when he was spotted during a show in Boston at the Wilbur Theater. The comedian briefly addressed the incident, saying that he is kinda processing what happened at the Oscars and, at some point, will be addressing it. It looks like things are not going to be easy for Will Smith as the Rock family is clearly upset with his behaviour.
Following the altercation, Christ Rock’s younger brother Toni has equally spoken out and made it clear the actors’ behaviour at the Oscars wasn’t acceptable. He made this revelation via his Twitter during a Q&A and a fan asked if he proves of Will Smith’s apology and Tony Rock replied with two words — NO. He also revealed that Diddy was lying when he said Chris Rock and Will Smith made up that night and are good friends again.
