The much anticipated Nigeria presidential debate organised by channel TV took place on Saturday, January 19 and is a must watch all Nigerians. The current president, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and close opponent, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP were however absent for the debate. Watch the full version on channels TV below.
Atiku was at the venue but left, saying he took the action because of Buhari’s absence.
“We came here for a Presidential debate, not a candidacy debate, and I, Atiku Abubakar cannot challenge or question an administration where the man at the helm of the affairs of the nation is not present to defend himself or his policies,” he said on Twitter.
Kingsley Moghalu of the YPP, Fela Durotoye of ANN, and Oby Ezekwesili of ACPN were the three candidates who participated in the debate. Omoyele Sowore a candidate Nigerians wanted to take part wasn’t selected for the debate
