“Does This Mean I’m A Naija Man Finally?” Rapper Drake Asks As He Proudly Shows Off His DNA Ancestry Test Result

Famous award-winning Canadian-American rapper Aubrey Graham, better known as Drake, has proudly shown off the results of his DNA ancestry test.

The famous rapper surprised many when he took to his Instagram story to reveal that the DNA ancestry tests his father recently took showed that he is 30% Nigerian.

The ‘Toosie Slide’ singer further revealed that his dad shared with him a screenshot of the test that showed they were more Nigerian than any other race or tribe in the world.

Along with the screenshot of the test, Dreams asked if he could finally address himself as a Nigerian.

“This is my dad’s results. Does this mean I’m a Naija man finally?”.

Drake isn’t the only American celebrity who has confirmed his Nigerian ancestry.

Meghan Markle reveals she is of Nigerian heritage

Last year, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, opened up about her genetic heritage, revealing that she is 43% Nigerian.

Markle made this known in an exclusive podcast interview, “Archetypes,” where she discovered through a genealogy search that her roots can be traced to Nigeria.

In the episode, Markle discussed with American actress Issa Rae, Nigerian-American writer Ziwe Fumudoh, and professor Emily Bernards her desire to learn more

about her roots.

She said, “I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago.” 

When her guests asked her to share what the results entailed, the Duchess said,

“I’m 43% Nigerian,” to the shock of Ziwe, who responded, “No way!”

Ziwe further asked, “Are you serious? This is huge. Igbo, Yoruba, do we know?”.

Lil Wayne reveals he’s Nigerian

Also, African-American rapper Lil Wayne said that he is 53 percent Nigerian.

He said this during his chat with hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN as a guest on the “Drink Champ” show that airs on Revolt TV.

According to him, an ancestry test conducted by a website he shared some of his details on proved that he’s more Nigerian than American.
