Femi Otedola’s 60th birthday celebration on a luxury yacht
Oh yes! Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola almost broke the internet after celebrating his 60th birthday on Friday, 4th November 2022 in the most amazing way.
According to his children, It was the billionaire’s childhood dream to celebrate his 60th birthday in a grand way. He decided to rent the famous luxury yacht ‘Christiana O’ for 3 million Euros. Sailing for three weeks across the mediterranean sea exclusively with his family in celebration.
The rented super yacht belonged to the late Greek shipping businessman, Aristotle Onassis, who was once regarded as the richest man in the world.
The yacht was ranked the 59th largest yacht in the world as of 2022. Counting down to the ‘big day’, Otedola shared pictures of him and his family and also the interiors of the yacht.
Aside from other luxury amenities, the yacht also has a bed with Otedola’s initials, FO, inscribed.
According to Charter World, the weekly rental cost of the yacht is €620,000.
DJ Cuppy, the famous daughter of Femi Otedola, has revealed the reason why her Dad spent €3 million to rent the luxurious yacht.
Taking to her Instagram page, she wrote: “My father Femi Otedola, always dreamt as a little boy to visit the iconic 99m super-yacht Christina O because it was owned by his (and my) role model Aristotle Onassis.“
To celebrate his 60th, not only did he visit the yacht, but has chartered it for his loved ones so we can live here for the next 3 weeks! Looking at my father I can see how happy, accomplished, and still in disbelief he is. This is what love looks like”.
It’s no news that the Nigerian singer, Oluwatosin Ajibade, a.k.a Mr Eazi is Femi Otedola’s son-in-law, joined the family, he celebrated and performed his latest song, Legalize at his father’s-in-law, Femi Otedola’s birthday vacation. The popular song was dedicated to his fiancee, Temi Otedola, the youngest daughter of the Nigerian business man.
The news of the Otedola family’s arrival at the superyacht already caused a great amount of fanfare among many Nigerians who have been full of admiration for Femi Otedola’s journey. His family also makes history as they become the first Africans to charter this super-exclusive piece of real estate.
2. Wakanda Lagos premiere
In anticipation of the Wakanda Forever movie release this coming week, Disney/Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continued its promotional tour with a historic premiere in Lagos, Nigeria, on Sunday, November 6th evening.
In attendance at the star-studded event were the movie director, Ryan Coogler and the movie stars such as; Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Winston Duke and Michaela Coel. The Producer Nate Moore was also on hand along with the soundtrack artists and producers.
The Nigeria premiere was held in association with the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) and FilmOne Entertainment and celebrated the movie’s African heritage.
3. Nollywood Actress Mbong’s Wedding
Beautiful Nigerian actress Mbong has finally remarried after eight years of divorce from her ex-husband Jeta Amata, a Nigerian Filmmaker. Ditching her husband’s famous name, ‘Amata’, Mbong now goes by her new husband’s surname, Sule, as a result of her new marriage. She surprised her fans when she announced her new wedding on her social media handle, where she removed all her old photos to start afresh. She also changed her Social media handle name from Mbong Amata to Mbong Sule.
4. Tiwa savage rocks new hair look while attending an event
Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage made her first post after her six days later after her good friend, Davido who lost his son Ifeanyi to a tragic drowning incident at the Banana Island home in Lagos.
Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James also posted the singer’s picture, rocking one of her gorgeous designs with her new look.
