It’s no longer news that Nigerian Afro-Pop singer – Fireboy DML – has featured Grammy Award-Winning Ed Sheeran in the remix of his hit single “Peru.” The video which dropped on the afternoon of 24th December has gotten people talking.

It is worthy to note that this could be the starting step required by the Nigerian singer to be on the Grammy radar. Many still believe the line-up of international collaborations by Burna Boy, helped him in clinching the Award last year.

As a comment response to a post on Facebook, a certain David C. Victor said this: “Burna Boy has dropped past question. Let other boys follow.”

You will understand from his comment that he’s in support of the motion that holds water regarding featuring artists who have walked the Grammy stage before. Chris Martin of Coldplay was featured by Burna Boy on the song “Monsters You Made.”

I believe the acceptance of the song helped him get a certain level of recognition, having had a Grammy legend in it. Yes, Coldplay has won almost in all the major categories, and are always tipped to win something whenever they release an Album.

Wizkid’s feature of Justin Bieber in the deluxe edition of his Album could help him win the award. And yes, he was recently nominated. I started this long ago, even before he was nominated. His collaboration which got him more audience is an advantage.

Ed Sheeran has been achieving good feats in the sight of the academy, and being featured in a song could give visibility to the artiste who featured him.

Fireboy DML could be looking at a nomination in 2022, after the exposure, this will bring him.
