Nollywood award-winning director and film producer, Imoh Umoren, has revealed through a thriller video on YouTube that his new film titled ‘The Herbert Macaulay Affair’ features the grandson of Nigerian founding father and nationalist hero, Herbert Macaulay.
Wale Macaulay bags himself a leading role alongside veteran actor Saidi Balogun in a film depicting the lives and times of the late Macaulay, his grandfather – with William Benson taking up the role of politician and nationalist, Sir Herbert Macaulay.
The film is scheduled for an October 25, 2019 release across Nigerian cinemas. And on October 2, 2019, Umoren released a 1:31 minutes long thriller on YouTube.
In the thriller, Benson dons Sir Herbert Macaulay’s uniquely styled mustache and is seen enjoying the legendary leader’s famous tobacco wood pipe and mimicking his voice and gestures, while addressing a crowd ahead of a protest.
Also starring in the movie include: Kelechi Udegbe, Martha Ehunome Orhiere, Tubosubn Ayedun Sunday, Lolo Eremie, Obiora Maduegbuna, Stanley Matthews, Phillip Jarman, and Mary Kowo.
